Nita Jeanne Fullmer Luke passed away peacefully on March 28th, 2015. She was born on September 3rd, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clyde and Lois Fullmer. Nita Jeanne studied at BYU and Arizona State University. She married the love of her life, John W. Luke in August of 1946 at the Salt Lake Temple.
Nita and John lived the majority of their life together in California where they raised three wonderful and loving children, Suzanne, Dianne, and Scott. Nita built a delightful home with her artistry and passion in the kitchen. She enjoyed staying active throughout her life; she was a fierce competitor on the golf course, the tennis courts, and was a savvy bridge player.
For over 20 years, Nita was a staunch and dedicated supporter of Childhelp ''' an organization committed to supporting the victims of child abuse through education treatment & prevention programs.
She was a strong, beautiful, and classy woman with an undeniable spirit. She carried herself with poise, and elegance at all times. Known for her great sense of fashion and refined demeanor, Nita Jeanne was always ready to impress. Those who knew her can attest to her cunning wit and playful banter. She was certainly a spirited woman, and she will be missed greatly.
She is survived by her three loving children, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband John, sister- Donna Rae Fullmer Barlow, and brothers' Ben & Owen Fullmer.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday March 31st at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park where Nita Jeanne now lays to rest. She spent her last years in California until she moved to Sunrise Assisted Living. The family is extremely grateful for the overwhelming care and compassion provided by George Wright and his caring staff. Her remaining months were under the loving care of Frankie from Inspiration Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, she would be honored by a donation to the Inspiration Hospice (835 E 4800 S, Murray, UT 84107) or Childhelp.
