Janice Deon Jones Van Tussenbroek (1933 - 2017)
Our beautiful, amazing Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother passed away on August 9th, 2017 after many years of battling health issues, numerous falls and pain, while still doing all she could to care for our sweet Angel, JaNae.
Mom passed away into the loving arms of her eternal companion, Adrian, and together with him celebrated a joyous reunion with her sisters and parents. Mom lived an incredible full life, raising five children while also helping to care for her mother for many years. She worked numerous secretary positions, where she was praised for her outstanding skills and work. She was an incredible, creative, homemaker, who taught her children the gifts of hard work, dedication, family traditions, to always follow their dreams, and to love family and Heavenly Father first. She was a strong and faithful daughter of God. She had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and passed that along to her family. She was always loving and accepting of each of her children and ensured that they had every opportunity offered to them in this life. Mom and Dad cared for our sweet Angel JaNae, and knew that she could accomplish anything she set her mind to. She was truly their Angel.
Mom and Dad loved to travel and had many numerous, amazing adventures together. They loved spending time at Bear Lake, going on Cruises with friends, and taking trips to California with the family. Their passion was dance, where they had years of being Stake and Regional Dance Directors and taking trips to Logan with their friends. Their influence in so many lives carried on throughout the years through those opportunities. Mom had a wonderful group of friends that she loved associating with from her early years throughout her life. "Club" was something Mom cherished and she was so grateful for those friendships.
We want to truly thank all the many caregivers at Highland Care, Inspiration Home and Hospice Care and Beehive Elderly Care for the tender love and support over the past few years that was given to our Mother, along with our Father and JaNae.
Mom is survived by her children, JaNae Van Tussenbroek, Julene (David) Goaslind, Jody (Chad) Newsome, Brent (Lisa) Van Tussenbroek, Traci (Gordon) Raymond; 13 Grandchildren, and 12 Great-Grandchildren and her sister, Barbara Jones. She was proceeded in death by her husband Adrianus Van Tussenbroek, her parents Charles and Margaret Jones, and sisters, Delores Davis and Carol Blaylock.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12th, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Valley View LDS Stake Center, 2245 E. 3900 So., in Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends and family can visit Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Drive, in Salt Lake City, Utah and at the Stake Center from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
