Eleanor Rose Evans passed away on January 4th, 2018. She was 91 years old.

Eleanor was born October 22, 1926, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of John Lawrence and Hazel Irene Brennecke. She was an identical mirror twin to Sister Edith Virginia Reisser.

She earned a BA degree from the University of Iowa, Iowa City in Elementary Education. She moved to Denver where she met her husband, W. Charles Evans. They married on June 28, 1958, in Denver, Co. Eleanor taught school for 40 years in both the Denver Public Schools and...

Eleanor was born October 22, 1926, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of John Lawrence and Hazel Irene Brennecke. She was an identical mirror twin to Sister Edith Virginia Reisser.

She earned a BA degree from the University of Iowa, Iowa City in Elementary Education. She moved to Denver where she met her husband, W. Charles Evans. They married on June 28, 1958, in Denver, Co. Eleanor taught school for 40 years in both the Denver Public Schools and in the Granite School District in Salt Lake City. The children that she taught loved her and she loved them. After raising their two girls, Eleanor and her husband took many trips hiking and biking extensively throughout the west. They loved being active and in the outdoors. She also took many trips with her twin and their husbands.
Eleanor was a long time and devoted member of the Christ United Methodist Church. She was the third generation PEO and member of Chapter D for 60 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband for 47 years Wilbert Charles Evans, and Sisters Edith Virginia Reisser and Barbara Louise McGrath. Eleanor is survived by her two children Barbara (Willie) and Rebecca, and her granddaughter Olivia Rose.

Thanks to the staff at Highland Cove where she lived for 10 years and special thanks to Tammy Morgan. Many thanks to Hillside and their care where she lived for three years until her death.

Funeral services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park at 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City on Wednesday, January 10, 2017 at 2:00pm, followed by a light lunch at Christ United Methodist Church 2375 East 3300 South, SLC. Online condolences may be shared at www.wasatchlawn.com
